New Zealand Society of Notaries – Honour Bob Narev and Bob Eades
On Tuesday, 12 April a large number of guests gathered at the Northern Club to honour Bob Narev and Bob Eades of the New Zealand Society of Notaries Inc (the Notaries Society). Stewart Germann, President of the Notaries Society addressed the guests and spoke about the invaluable contribution that the two Bobs have made over many years. Bob Narev was the President of the Auckland District Society of Notaries for 11 years, retiring in 2003 and effectively laid the foundations for the establishment of the Notaries Society. Bob Eades was approached by the Council of the Auckland Society in the mid -1990s to review “The Australasian Notary” and subsequently produced a very helpful booklet for New Zealand notaries, the “New Zealand Notary.”
A special mention was made of Freda Narev, Bob Narev’s wife, who was the Secretary of the Auckland District Society of Notaries during her husband’s presidency. Stewart Germann also read out a number of messages from those who could not be present, thanking the two Bobs for the huge amount of time and effort which they have put into the Notaries Society. Kathryn Beck, NZLS President, also addressed the guests on the night. and reiterated the huge contribution from 2 esteemed practitioners. It was a special night to remember!
